Dr. Thomas Philbeck is Managing Director of SWIFT Partners Sàrl, a Geneva-based advisory group focused on strategic foresight and collective intelligence. He is the former Head of Technology, Society, and Policy at the World Economic Forum, where he led the project and content work on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. As a seasoned advisor on ethics and emerging technologies, he has served as a Senior Fellow for Carnegie Council’s AI and Equality Initiative, an advisor to the EU’s Horizon 2020 TechEthos project, and as a member of the IEEE’s AI Governance standards working group. Additionally, he has been a strategic advisor to the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA) and lectured on emerging technologies, strategy, foresight and leadership at top institutions, including Oxford University, the University of Geneva, HEC Paris, and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. Tom has been recognized as a Global Leadership Fellow at the World Economic Forum, a Berkman Klein Affiliate at Harvard, a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, and received the leadership award from the cohort at his alma mater HEC Paris.
